Since 2004 Dutch / American photographer Wijnanda Deroo followed and photographed the renovation and construction of the Rijksmuseum. At the reopening of the Rijksmuseum in 2013 shows this book designed by Irma Boom, in which the best photos are brought together.
Deroo made an international name with its intriguing, careful and people leaving photographs of interiors of offices, hotels, public buildings, restaurants and homes. The Rijksmuseum she built the same way in a period of almost ten years time an impressive document of the new Rijksmuseum in the making. The photos of the museum that are reopening steadily approaching bear its distinctive stamp.
The work of Wijnanda Deroo (1955) is in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Graphic designer Irma Boom (1960) is internationally renowned and multi-award for her work, which is collected by the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam and the MoMA in New York. The Rijksmuseum in 2012 she designed the new corporate identity and new logo.
