Ben Bos, one of the key figures who helped shape the legendary Amsterdam studio Total Design, first met Wim Crouwel while studying at the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheidsonderwijs (later the Gerrit Rietveld Academie).
Crouwel, then a teacher, was deeply impressed by Bos’s passion and versatility — he could draw, photograph, and write with equal skill — and later invited him to join his studio, which would soon become Total Design.
This volume is more than a catalogue of Ben Bos’s works; it is a true monograph, rich with personal episodes that illuminate his collaboration with Crouwel and his role in the evolution of Dutch modern design.
While the Dutch edition occasionally appears on the secondhand market, the English version has become increasingly hard to find.

Ben Bos (1930–2017) was a Dutch graphic designer, known as a former director of Total Design.
Ben BosはオランダのグラフィックデザイナーでありWim Crouwelらとともにアムステルダムの伝説的デザイスタジオであるTotal Designを設立。
Totale Designは60～80年代にオランダのスキポール空港や銀行、企業、博物館フェスティバルなど、今で言えばVisual Identityというような、その名のとおりトータルでデザインしてきました。
