Signs from the Stone Age

In the cult caves of the stone age beside the paintings of animals are also found unobtrusive abstract signs. Mysterious rows of dots and grids. Nobody can say what the meaning was for the creator more then ten millenias before. Was this the beginning of conceptional design? The original signs are found in the cave of Lascaux, France.
I tried to reproduce some of the signs with typographic materials: lines and dots.
After the pages with the printed signs follows a page with some excerpts from different special literature about the thinking of the poeple in the stone age and their philosophy.
The photographs on the following double page show the original signs in the cave, the photographs are printed in offset. On the back cover a text from the book “Taoteking” by the Chinese philosopher Laotse.
