some wear to the cover and very minor creasing to the corners, but as shown in the photos, the book is in good condition for an item over 50 years old
Quadrat-Prints, published by Jong & Co., was not offered for sale and was distributed only to a limited circle of associates.
Even today, the lines of text in books remain sequences of traditional signs.
The essential nature of type has changed very little since the introduction of cast metal type.
What has changed is only the speed of production.
The design of letters and the setting of type require the human eye and an aesthetic sensibility, and cannot be fully replaced even by the most sophisticated machines.
At the same time, however, in the face of the vast quantity of information produced by contemporary society, mechanization has become an unavoidable reality.
The alphabet presented here is not intended as a finished solution, but rather as a point of departure for further research.
