The sign system at the Paris-Roissy air port should be considered as a team project. Paul Andreu, the man responsible for the architectural conception of the complex, sought the advice of specialists to solve specific problems. Thus Adrian Frutiger was commissioned to design a new alphabet that would suit the architecture and the functional aspects of the airport.
He was also asked to establish typographic guidelines for the application of the alphabet to a sign system. The realization of the system was carried out by a team of draughtsmen and technicians from “Aeroport de Paris”, an enterprise under the supervision of Jacques Berthaut.

空港設計をした建築家のPaul AndreuとタイプデザイナーであるAdrian Frutigerを含めたチームによる、空港のアルファベットサインのガイドライン制作等詳しく記してあります。
このCDG空港のための書体をベースとして本文でも使えるよう改良され、Frutigerという書体名で一般向けに1976年に発売されました。
このFrutigerはドイツ郵便が制定書体としています。

1977年の10冊は世界中の有名な雑誌カバーをパロディ化したもので、意外にも業界では伝説となっている作品です。
スイスタイポグラフィを期待している日本人にとっては、なかなか理解し難いですが、
1977年は歴代の取引価格の中でも上位に位置します。
TM誌の歴史
1882年にSGM誌がチューリヒのR.Scweizer氏によって創刊された。
1923年にはRSI誌がE.Guggiに氏により創刊。そして1933年、ベルンのスイスタイポグラフィ協会かTM(Typografische Monatsblatter)誌が創刊された。
1948年にTM誌とRSI誌が、さらに1952年にはSGM誌も加えた３誌TM誌に合併。
尚、出版社はComedia社であり、1981年のRudolf Hostettler氏の没後からは、Jean Pierre Graberが編集を手掛けている。現在はLucius Hartmannの編集の下で季刊ベースで発行されている。
