This is a 20-page Direct Mail booklet from Comme des Garçons Homme Deux, the collection line centered on the traditional Japanese business suit. It was likely distributed to customers in the 1990s. As described in the Japanese preface, the theme draws on the idea of the bridge as a metaphor for connecting different worlds. Starting from the Japanese suit as its point of origin, the project explores a new value system that links people to people and Japan to the world.
The booklet features photographs of notable bridges from around the world, taken by Tom Baril and others, used as backgrounds for a series of contributed texts. On the final spread, a large sample of the actual suiting fabric used in Homme Deux is mounted across half of the spread.
