Richard Paul Lohse (1902-1988) is arguably one of the most important representatives of Concrete Art in Europe. He has had a marked effect on the movement of the concrete / constructive art as a painter and theorist, and not only inspired by his personality artists in Europe, but among other things, also the American artist Donald Judd thrilled. In Lohse, the ideal picture of concrete combines modernity: He was a painter, illustrator, graphic designer, theorist and cultural critic.

As a concise advocate of democratic art and decoration, Lohse has set apart in picture and writing (theses and texts) with modernity and those embedded in the socio-political context.
