Despite Wolfgang Weingart’s immense influence on contemporary typography, IDEA magazine published only a small number of issues focusing on his work.
For this reason, I am offering a set of 2 issues: IDEA No. 156, featuring a cover designed by Wolfgang Weingart, and IDEA No. 283, which includes a substantial feature on Weingart as an educator. Designed and contributed by Helmut Schmid, the latter features an extensive interview exploring Weingart’s teaching philosophy and approach.
Together, these 2 issues provide a valuable overview of both Weingart’s graphic work and his influential role as a teacher, making them an ideal pairing for anyone interested in his legacy.
